Call Day #138, 3/30/13

Erik's birthday!  The first call day as a family of five, ie the first day where I am holding down the fort with three kids age 4 and under.  A big day all around.

Claire with her morning getting-ready chart.  Do an activity and move it from the "To Do" column to "Done."  This is really helping the girls get ready in the morning a bit more independently while I take care of Oliver.

Finish your chart of to-do's and get a treat.

Writing Daddy a birthday note since he has to work on his birthday.  They made drawings for Erik while we listened to various Easter-themed songs and hymns.

Look how big I am already!  Easily fitting in 3 month clothes though not yet two months.  (Also, when you're the boy born after two sisters, you end up with pink cloth diapers.)

Oliver close-up.

Lifting head.

Outside in the sun.

It's getting warmer!  The girls were very happy for sandbox time.

Oliver in his bear suit.

Dancing to Easter songs they requested.  Notice the ballet lesson-inspired moves.

Oliver in his bouncy seat.  So glad he likes it!!  Gives me a few minutes with my hands free.

Eleanor asked to help Oliver get dressed.  This was the first time she's done it herself .

Covering a cross in pennies to remember that "Jesus paid it all."  Eleanor asked to use the glue gun herself and did a great job.

Eleanor helps make "Resurrection Cookies."  Beating egg whites.

Claire posing by the oven where our Resurrection Cookies are baking.  The oven gets sealed overnight (notice the bit of tape next to Claire, like Jesus sealed in the tomb) and in the morning we should have hollow meringues, reminding us of an empty tomb on Easter morning.  Hoping it works!

I showed Eleanor a bit about how to find a chapter and verse in her Bible this evening and asked her to read it to me.  She was excited she had read in a "real Bible" for the first time and wanted to read more.  Who can say no to that?  Gave her a little bit of time in her bed to read at bedtime.  She was so excited to be reading the Bible herself!
