Erik had a month of ED night shifts but technically no on call days so we took a hiatus from posting. He's back at it today so here are some pictures.
First thing in the morning, wanting me to sit down and read them a book. Claire brought "baby" to listen.
Had friends over this morning and had a picnic of sorts at the park.
The girls walking the wall. The friends we had over are twins born on the same day as Eleanor.
We started doing a little curriculum with Eleanor called Five in a Row (FIAR). We read the same children's book every day for five days and do some activity or discuss something related to it each day. Part of what Eleanor did today was color an American flag. We talked about why it has 50 stars and that meant something because she enjoyed doing a US puzzle on Monday.
We have maps on the wall to see where the stories we read take place. Here's Eleanor pointing to where we live.
When she asked me who lives in Texas and I couldn't think of anyone she knew, she ran and got a Fancy Nancy book. Turns out she remembered the story about a character who was new at Nancy's school because he had moved from Texas.
Claire post-nap. Whenever she wakes up, she doesn't make much noise, just sits in this corner of her crib (always *this* corner) and waits for us to come get her. Sometimes it's hard to know when she wakes up because she's so quiet about it.
Eleanor had been waiting until Claire woke up to play her harmonica. She got it yesterday as part of a FIAR lesson. She loves it and wants to take it everywhere. She took it with us in the van on our run to the post office. I did clarify that she could not play it IN the post office.
This is what I got when I asked for a smile. LOVE that girl!
Peek-a-boo!
In her new coat that came in the package we got from Grandma and Grandpa.
We were surprised to have new cups included with clothes in the package. My favorite part of this video? Claire knows the word "Cinderella." Listen for it. (Though not in the video, she also can correctly identify Beauty, pronounced "booty.")
